Students of K2 and K3 in Early Years Department Performed the “Love You, Thank You” Dance.

“Love You, Thank You!”

At the end of November, Early Years designed a special “Confession of Love” appreciation activity. With the help of traditional Chinese virtues such as “showing gratitude” and “helping others”, they taught a lesson on gratitude. Early Years students cut out colourful maple leaves, wrote their own messages of gratitude and pasted them onto the “Confession of Love” wall. This taught them how to express their gratitude, helped them to practise their hands-on skills and showed them how to present their ideas through their work.

Afterwards, the students performed their sign language dance. At the end, they said: “I love you, thank you”! Teachers encouraged the children to confidently express their love to their families and friends.

Showing Gratitude Starts From the “Heart”

The primary school students also gave the gift of gratitude. Teachers encouraged the children to start from their “hearts” and to think about the people who have helped them. Assistant Head of Primary (Arts and P.E.) Zak Shi, who was also responsible for this event, said: “The smaller something is, the easier we take it for granted. Behind everyday actions, there are so many people giving silently. We believe that true gratitude is expressed from the inside out. Only with a grateful heart and an eye for discovery can we sincerely give thanks”.

It’s easy to find people around us who deserve a “Thank you”, if you open your eyes it is not difficult to discover many lovely things in daily life; such as the bus drivers and attendants who take us to and from school, the security guards who keep the campus safe every day, the cleaners who make everything tidy, the canteen staff who make our food, and of course the teachers who teach us everything we know.

With the help of this activity, this time let’s say “Thank you” loudly!
