The Summer Internship in Chengdu has begun and the second destination is the Bank of East Asia, Chengdu branch. From July 4 to 5, nearly 30 students in Malvern College Chengdu would acquire financial knowledge and learn the process of banking in the Bank of East Asia.
On July 4th morning, students began their orientation in the training room of the bank. Each Staff Mentor divided the students into groups and asked each group of students to choose their group leader and group name. They also had to create their group Logo and design a poster to introduce their group members.
Each group then presented the poster and introduced their group name. For instance, the group “Nothing” symbolized anything was possible for them. As for the poster design: MCC logo + group members’ first names’ letter flag, crown, etc. are all fascinating.
During the two days’ internship programme, students learned a lot about banking and financial investment. They went to various positions in the bank to explore the job duties, attend mock job interviews and learn how to identify various currencies.
The bank internship ended on July 5th afternoon. The most actively involved group was selected and the winners were awarded with souvenirs. Mr. Jun Yao, the Branch Director of the Chengdu Bank of East Asia, appreciated the proactive learning attitude of our Malvernians. He hoped that the two days’ internship programme can help the students in planning for their future career path. Mr. Yao was looking for the opportunity of working with our Malvernians in the Bank of East Asia in the near future.
